Hosting & Server Logs

This website is served via Netlify. When you access the site, the hosting provider processes technical access data (e.g. IP address, date/time, page requested, user agent). This is necessary to deliver the site securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Image Delivery (CDN)

We use Cloudinary to deliver images. In doing so, technically necessary data (e.g. IP address, browser data) is transmitted to the service in order to provide content efficiently.

If you contact us by email, we store your details in order to process your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR).

You can sign up for our newsletter on our website. For this purpose we process the email address you provide for the purpose of sending the newsletter on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). The submission and storage of your registration is handled via Netlify Forms, a service of Netlify, Inc. (USA); this may involve the transfer of data to the USA. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future and unsubscribe — by sending a message to the email address given in the imprint. After withdrawal, we delete your email address from the mailing list.

Cookies & Consent

We use technically necessary cookies to provide the website and to store your preferences (e.g. language and dark mode). In addition, our advertising partner Mediavine/Grow may set cookies and similar technologies for advertising and audience measurement purposes (see the "Advertising – Mediavine / Grow" section). For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, non-essential cookies are only set after you have given consent via the consent banner (consent tool). You can change or withdraw your consent there at any time with effect for the future (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Advertising – Mediavine / Grow

This site is partly financed through advertising. For this purpose we use the advertising and engagement technology "Grow" by Mediavine, Inc. (Mediavine), which is loaded from the domains grow.me and faves.grow.me.

When you visit our pages, Mediavine and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies and process personal data — in particular your IP address, device and browser information, approximate location, and information about your use of the website. This data is used to serve and measure advertisements and — depending on your consent — to display personalized advertising.

For users in the EEA and the United Kingdom, processing for advertising purposes takes place only on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can give, manage and withdraw at any time via the consent tool. Outside the EEA, processing may be based on a legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). As part of ad delivery, data may be transferred to advertising partners and to third countries — in particular the USA.

Cross-Domain Attribution Within Our Portal Network (arrimundo)

Sprachschule.org is part of the arrimundo portal network (see "A service by arrimundo" in the footer). The network also includes study-abroad.org, studienkolleg.org, flexblocked.com, student-insurance.com, living-abroad.org and arrimundo.com. When you move from one of these sites to another, we may pass a referral identifier (the "ref" URL parameter, or the "arr_ref" cookie) and a pseudonymous visitor ID assigned by our analytics tool PostHog (the "pid" URL parameter) to the destination domain. This lets us track which partner a visit came from and analyse your usage of our own portals consistently across domains.

This attribution is processed via a central Cloudflare Worker and a database (Supabase, "tracking" schema) that we operate jointly for all seven domains listed above. If you complete an application or inquiry on one of the partner sites, this attribution may be permanently linked ("frozen") to that record so referrals can be correctly tracked and compensated. Sprachschule.org itself does not offer its own application or lead forms (see the "Advertising" section); here, the attribution mechanism only concerns moving between our own domains.

For users in the EEA and the United Kingdom, this processing takes place only on the basis of your consent via the consent tool (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); outside the EEA it may be based on our legitimate interest in operating a functioning, traceable partner and referral accounting system within our own portal network (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Web analytics – Google Analytics, PostHog & Plausible

To analyse website usage we use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Limited. It is integrated via Cloudflare Zaraz; Google Analytics is only loaded and activated after you have given consent via the consent tool (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent there at any time with effect for the future.

Pseudonymised usage data is processed (e.g. truncated IP address, device and browser information, pages visited, approximate location). Google Analytics 4 truncates the IP address by default; we do not combine this data with other data. Data may be transferred to third countries — in particular the USA.

In addition, we use the analytics tools PostHog and Plausible. These are also integrated via Cloudflare Zaraz and are only loaded and activated after you have given consent via the consent tool (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Maps – OpenStreetMap

On our search page we embed interactive maps using the open-source library Leaflet. The map tiles are loaded from servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation (tile.openstreetmap.org), and the Leaflet library itself from the unpkg.com CDN. As a result, when the map is loaded your IP address and technical browser data are transmitted to these providers (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in displaying school locations). Your Rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and data portability. You may also withdraw any consent given at any time, object to processing, and lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

Liability for Links

Our offer contains links to external third-party websites. The respective providers are responsible for their content. If we become aware of any legal violations, we will remove such links immediately.
